Tourism North West is a sub-committee of Business North West and is responsible for implementing the North West Auckland Destination Management Plan.

Business North West is committed to supporting the tourism industry of the north west to unlock our area, support local families, and encourage visitors to stay with us and enjoy our spaces in a sustainable manner.

Join the Tourism North West Sub-Committee

Tourism North West is a sub-committee of Business North West.

The Tourism North West sub-committee consists of:

  • a minimum of one voluntary mana whenua board member,
  • between three and eight voluntary board members from the North West Auckland tourism industry, and
  • one nominated representative from Business North West who will also act as Chair.

The inaugural committee shall be receiving nominations at the Business North West AGM 2026 to be held on:

  • Tuesday 13th October
  • 6:30pm
  • Deacon’s Kitchen, The Riverhead, 33 York Terrace, Riverhead.

The expectations of Tourism North West within the first year are to:

  • Create the branding for North West Auckland,
  • Develop an interactive website for Tourism North West,
  • Help tourism operators connect and create itineraries, packages, and valuable networking opportunities,
  • Create relationships with the Rodney Local Board, Destination Auckland, Auckland Council, NZTA and Auckland Transport,
  • Develop ongoing work programmes and budgets to implement the Destination Management Plan.

All implementation of the plan will be funded through ongoing grants from Business North West and the Tourism Membership.

Tourism Membership

Are you a tourism business in North West Auckland?

You can join Tourism North West under our Tourism Membership. Under this membership, all of your membership fees are provided to Tourism North West and are used for the implementration of the Destination Management Plan. We have four membership categories, depending on the size of your business.

Explorer Member $500 per annum

Based on business annual revenue of less than $100,000. Apply here.

Guide Member $1,000 per annum

Based on business annual revenue between $100,000 and $250,000.

Medium Member $1,750 per annum

Based on business annual revenue between $250,000 and $750,000

Large Member $2,500 per annum

Based on annual revenue greater than $750,000 per annum.
