At 153 years old, The Riverhead is New Zealand’s oldest riverside tavern and holds New Zealand’s second oldest liquor licence. With three separate venues on site, there is a place that will suit you…from ‘The Landing Restaurant’ where you can enjoy scrumptious meals served alfresco on our open decks in summer, or our cosy fire lit restaurant in the winter. ‘The Portage bar’ is the place to meet friends, play pool or watch the rugby over a few bevvies. If it’s a special occasion, you can hire our private Functions venue ‘The Boat House’ for weddings, parties, business meeting or corporate events. We open ‘The Boat House’ to the public on Sunday afternoons (only), with music, where you can enjoy a relaxed afternoon with friends or family & festive fare.
