Welcome to Nga Tapuae o Mua, Footprints of the Past

This is the first part of a heritage trail stretching from Riverhead to Kaukapakapa. We want to pass on the history of our district, the important part it played in our development and local economy, but most of all the stories of the people who first settled this land and those who came after.

The trail is intended to be interactive so at each stop in the trail, you can scan the QR code on the information plate to find out about the people who lived there and the history of the place.

Maps of the trail are available at various stores in Helensville or you can download a copy below.

We would like to acknowledge the hard work and research done by Leigh Bosch and Megan Paterson from the Helensville Museum.
